Born in Kolkata and brought up in the industrial belt of Durgapur ages ago. I had my schooling from Pranavanada Vidyamandir and then complete my 10+2 from Bidhan Chandra institution. I was always very studious and good at my studies. But I was everyone’s favourite as a creative individual making performance from a very early age. I had a small group at school named as Ananya Goshti- (Team Ananya) performing at various cultural functions. My cultural zeal also got enhanced at the DVC Colony our residential area. I was performing in and as Director of Dramas, Plays and Stage Shows.
My mother has been a great inspiration rather it was her dream I am making reality today. She instilled my passion for cinema. It was her two favourite films- Pather Pachali by Satyajit Ray and Komolgandhar by Ritwik Ghatak that changed my life forever. It was that time when we had just shifted to our house in North Kolkata, I believed to have started dreaming of becoming a filmmaker. But I had gone ahead and completed my studies from Scottish Church College i.e, B.A. in Political Science and again M.A. in the same subject from University of Calcutta. Maybe my love for my nation grew as a student of politics. And I started writing socio-political drama from this time. My father wanted me to pursue PhD, but by then I had already planned to join Advertising sector and went ahead to study Advertising & Marketing Management form Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
I had started my career as a Creative Content Writer in the year 2005 when I was still very young. But the journey of becoming a Creative Director & Ad Filmmaker was very smooth within a short span of time. Backed by my academic background I was excelling in all the ventures and projects. I served the advertising sector for about 11years. I was the guiding guru of a team of young minds who followed me all through and given my strength in going ahead. Now time has come when I had to take a greater decision, as already by then I had done a course from Kolkata Film and Television Institute. I took a step ahead and started directing my independent film projects.
During the making of these projects my prior experience of Ad Filmmaker was a great help. But real support came from my parents who said- go ahead, fulfill your dreams as we are there for you always in every way. And yes if I had not got them beside me it would never been a reality. Two other person who took there time out and been a great guide was –Rajiv Bose, Actor & Prosenjit Chowdhury, Cinematographer. No wonder why I am what I am today with valuable inputs from these people in my life and career. I am also a writer and during my growing years I wrote many short stories, plays, poems and novella. This is just the beginning, - ‘Yeh toh sirf agas hain, suruwad hain safar ka.’
Presently I am working with Asian College of Teachers as Assistant Manager IT. Working with this organization means a great space for creativity and support in terms of both time and money. This is the best place to work as I get to work on a creative job profile and get work inputs, guidance and support from CEO Sir & my HOD, IT Dept.

What defines Ananya is her simplicity and down to earth nature. She has an eye for perfection and clearly a creative soul. Ananya Bhanja Chaudhuri.... The first time I met her, I found her to be very sweet, bubly, intelligent yet strict and disciplined. She is the epitome of todays feminism. Has modern outlook with a conservative approach. She's quite an interesting character. Dramatic, Emotional, Sophisticated, tendency to throw tantrums, but she reins them in and rides her life like a pro. I had a chance to work with her closely. As a director, she likes to keep things simple. Works hard. Listens to everyone and gives space. Yet does not succumbs. Has a clear mind on what she needs to do and how she wants it to happen.
